Matia Mobility Names National Seating & Mobility Canada a Flagship Canadian Partner for the Tek RMD M1
Burnaby, B.C. and Salt Lake City, Utah August 6, 2026 — National Seating & Mobility (NSM), one of Canada’s fastest-growing providers of mobility, home medical equipment, and accessibility solutions, and Matia Mobility, an innovator in standing mobility technology for wheelchair users, today announced a strategic distribution agreement covering the Matia Mobility Tek RMD M1 Standing Mobility Platform. The agreement establishes NSM Canada as a flagship Canadian partner for the platform, with coordinated clinical training, dedicated support, and coverage through NSM’s branch network nationwide.
The Tek RMD M1 enables wheelchair users to independently and safely transition from sitting to standing and to move through their environments at eye level. By combining stability, intuitive controls, and a compact design, the platform supports independence, social participation, and overall health and quality of life.
With one of the smallest footprints in its category, the Tek RMD M1 allows users to access tight spaces and reach items that would otherwise be out of range from a traditional seated wheelchair. That compact design can also reduce the need for costly home modifications, making it easier for individuals to live and work comfortably in their existing environments.
NSM Canada brings together some of the country’s most experienced professionals in complex rehabilitation, seating, mobility, positioning, and accessibility, with roots reaching back to 1969 through legacy organizations including SelfCare Home Health Products, Advanced Medical, PG Surg-Med, Canada Care Medical, Les Entreprises Médicales de l’Outaouais, ErgoSanté, and Embracor. The agreement pairs that clinical network and service infrastructure with Matia Mobility’s engineering to expand access to standing mobility technology for Canadians.
“Bringing the Tek RMD M1 into our portfolio is a significant step for our Canadian clients,” said Jen Casu-Morin, President, National Seating & Mobility Canada. “Our clinicians and technology specialists are focused on matching each client with equipment that fits how they actually live, and this platform opens up environments and everyday activities that would otherwise be out of reach.”
“NSM Canada has built a reputation across North America for clinical depth and for service that continues long after delivery,” said Steven Boal, CEO of Matia Mobility. “We are investing in this relationship accordingly, with dedicated training and support for their teams from coast to coast. The Tek RMD M1 was designed to remove barriers and give users greater freedom in how they live, work, and connect with others, and NSM’s network will help bring that to more Canadians.”
The Tek RMD M1 will be available through NSM Canada locations beginning July 26, 2026. Clients, clinicians, and funding coordinators can learn more at https://www.nsm-seating.ca/matia-mobility.
